Information for students from Ghana
Why study with us?
Since its beginnings in 1976, the Buckingham Law School has benefited from its connections with Ghana, and significant numbers of Ghanaian students have, over the years, taken advantage of our two-year LLB programme in order to obtain a Qualifying Law Degree (QLD).
Those who already have a first degree in a non-law subject may qualify for our International Scholarship.
Two year degrees
Taking less time to complete than most law degrees, the Buckingham LLB (Single Honours Law) covers, as well as the fundamental subjects required by the legal profession in England and Wales, a number of elective subjects: these include Company Law, Evidence and Commercial Law, amongst others.
More recently, the Oil and Gas “pathway”, which we introduced into our LLM in International and Commercial Law some years ago, has also proved attractive to Ghanian students seeking to further their studies with a Master’s degree.
